The Insight
As our parents get older, we tend to treat them like helpless children. Even when they’re the ones who taught us life’s most valuable lesson: how to take care of ourselves.
The Solution
We demonstrated a modern-day scenario: Puteri took Mak, her mother, to live with her because she thinks Mak is not able to take care of herself. But Puteri comes to realise that she can give the most important treasure in her life a sense of purpose and dignity, by empowering her mother to live where and how she wants to. Because Rumah Mak (Mum’s Home) is not just where Puteri’s mother lives; it is an extension of a meaningful life Mak has built for herself.
